Bedroom Painting in Toronto

Primary bedrooms, kids' rooms and nurseries in calm colours and low-odour paints, with furniture moved and protected.

A bedroom is the one room you need back the same night. Lumen Painting plans bedroom painting in Toronto around that: we protect the bed and furniture, use low-odour paints where the job allows, and tell you when the room will be ready to sleep in.

We paint primary bedrooms, guest rooms, kids' rooms and nurseries across Toronto and the GTA, including accent walls, ceilings, closets, trim and doors. The estimate is free and every job carries a written workmanship warranty.

What is included

  • Walls, ceilings and closets
  • Accent and feature walls
  • Baseboards, window casings and bedroom doors
  • Nurseries and kids' rooms with washable finishes
  • Filling holes from shelves, frames and TV mounts
  • Bed, dressers and floors moved and protected
  • Colour samples on your wall before you decide
  • Clean-up so the room is ready to use

How we do it

  1. Choose colours

We help you narrow the colours and test samples on the wall in your bedroom's light.

  2. Protect the room

Bed and furniture moved and covered, floors and window coverings protected.

  3. Prep

Holes from frames and mounts filled, walls sanded and cleaned, closets emptied if they are included.

  4. Paint

Ceiling first, then walls, then trim and doors, with clean lines at every edge.

  5. Room back in order

Furniture back in place, floors cleaned and a walkthrough with you.

Colours that help you rest

Softer, muted colours suit most bedrooms: warm whites, greige, muted greens and blues, and deeper shades on a single accent wall behind the bed. Matte or eggshell finishes keep light from glaring off the walls. We bring sample colours and test them in your room, because north-facing and south-facing bedrooms in Toronto can make the same colour look very different.

Nurseries and kids' rooms

For a nursery, plan the painting well before the baby arrives so the room has time to air out. For kids' rooms, a washable eggshell or satin finish makes crayon and fingerprints easier to clean. We can add a feature wall or two-tone walls without making the room feel busy.

Part of a bigger interior job

Many clients add bedrooms to a larger interior painting project or a whole-house repaint. We schedule bedrooms so you always have somewhere to sleep.

What affects the price

Room size
A small guest room and a large primary suite with a walk-in closet are very different jobs.
Ceilings and closets
Including ceilings, closets and built-ins adds time.
Accent walls and colours
Each extra colour means more cutting-in and more paint to manage.
Wall repairs
Filling holes from shelves, TV mounts and wallpaper removal adds prep.
Trim and doors
Painting baseboards, casings and doors is often quoted as a separate line.

Every quote is free, written and based on a visit, so you know the full price before any work starts.

Bedroom Painting questions

Can I sleep in the room the same night?

Often, yes. With low-odour paints and good ventilation, many bedrooms can be used the same evening. We will tell you when the room is ready.

How long does it take to paint a bedroom?

A typical bedroom is often done in a day. Larger suites, ceilings, closets or repairs can add time.

Do you paint nurseries?

Yes. We recommend painting a nursery well ahead of the baby's arrival so the room has plenty of time to air out.

Can you paint an accent wall?

Yes. Accent walls, two-tone walls and painted ceilings are all common bedroom requests.

What finish is best for a bedroom?

Matte or eggshell for walls, and semi-gloss for trim and doors. For kids' rooms, a washable eggshell or satin is easier to clean.
